My Commitment
As a member of the CrossRoad Church, I understand the responsibilities associated with being in a covenant relationship with a family of faith and voluntarily submit myself to the spiritual care of this body of believers.
My Responsibility for My Relationship with God
My walk of faith with Jesus Christ will be of utmost importance in my life. I will seek to abide in God's grace through public and private means of devotion, such as regular attendance in corporate worship, daily devotional reading of the Bible, and frequent prayer. I pledge to grow in the practice of spiritual discipline.
My Responsibility for My Relationship with my Family
I will strive to maintain my home in a manner that reflects the glory of God through the emulation of principles revealed in Ephesians 5.22-6.4, which includes godly support of my spouse and the education of my children.
My Responsibility for My Relationship with my Church
I pledge myself to the faithful support of the ministries and expenses of my church in proportion with my income (1 Cor. 16.2). By taking advantage of discipleship opportunities, I will seek to discover and employ my spiritual gifts in service of my church (Eph. 4.12 ff ). I will help my brothers and sisters in Christ bear their burdens (Gal. 6.2) through prayer, friendship, encouragement, material resources, and where necessary, loving church discipline. I will regularly pray for the members my church.
My Responsibility for My Relationship with the World
I will support the witness of the church of Jesus Christ by living a life that points others to Christ in word and deed. I will fulfill this responsibility by embracing opportunities to equip myself to share the Gospel with others, and by participating in the Great Commission ministries of my church, including support and prayer for missionaries around the world.
My Church's Responsibility to Me
CrossRoad Church pledges to embrace all repentant sinners that God calls to covenant with us. We commit to helping every member grow in Christ's likeness through the faithful preaching of God's Word, prayer, discipleship, mentoring, encouragement, and accountability. We pledge to help members bear their burdens, to lift them up when they fall, to love them when they fail, and to search for them when they stray. We pledge to do all of this with an attitude of patience, forbearance, and mercy – mindful of how Christ has dealt lovingly with us.
