The call of Jesus Christ to salvation is a call to travel the Cross Road . Entering into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is not an event, it's the beginning of a spiritual journey. Spiritual growth occurs as individuals learn how to travel on the Cross Road. At Crossroad Church, your spiritual growth is one of our top priorities. In Ephesians 4:11-12 we learn that the role of pastors and teachers in the church is “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ.” Simply put, our job is not to do the work of ministry for you, but to equip you for ministry and then join you in the process. Our desire at Crossroad Church is to partner with you in the work of ministry. It is our goal to equip every member with the spiritual tools needed to grow into a mature disciple of Jesus Christ. We want YOU to have a powerful and effective ministry that impacts the world around you. Our family of faith offers four different classes of study that will help you grow in the image of Christ and prepare you to live a life that makes an eternal difference.
Community Groups—let the journey begin.
Webster's dictionary defines a community as “a unified body of individuals.” Community groups exist to provide authentic fellowship and meaningful relationships within the Crossroad family. These groups are designed to be entry-level Bible studies that introduce new members to small groups at CrossRoad Church. They are co-ed and age graded in order to help minister to your individual needs in a relevant way. Participation in a Community group is expected of all members. Think of a typical Sunday School class done very well, one that is open to and welcomes new faces, one that facilitates the building of life-long relationships – and you are beginning to understand the goal of our community groups.

Discipleship Challenge Groups – Growing as a Disciple of Christ
Stage one – Explaining the Basics of Christianity: The Apostle Paul's ministry made it his life vision to produce mature disciples of Christ. In Colossians 1:28 Paul states, “we proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone complete in Christ.” For the Christian, the gateway to the abundant life of Christ and spiritual maturity begins with the spiritual disciplines. Stage One Challenge Groups will introduce you to the spiritual disciplines (prayer, Bible study, fasting, scripture memory, etc.), basic Christian doctrine, and a well-rounded curriculum of outstanding Christian Literature. These groups are open to anyone, gender specific, and meet throughout the week.
Stage Two – Preparing Members for Servant Leadership: The Bible clearly teaches that everyone in the church has a role to play in building the kingdom of heaven. You have been gifted and blessed with talents that God desires to use for his glory. In stage two, we want to discover your individual talents and equip you for the work of the ministry that God has for you. This class will train you in proper Biblical interpretation, evangelism, and discipleship. It will include in-depth studies of Scripture as well as personal accountability designed to grow you in the spiritual disciplines .
Stage Three – Launching New Ministries in CrossRoad Church : Can you imagine being used by God to make a difference in the lives of others that will last for eternity? Advanced training for this eternal impact begins at stage three. At this stage of the equipping process, you are ready to begin your ministry. Some of you may be called to be teachers and you will lead gender specific groups of stage one or stage two, thus reproducing what you have learned in the lives of others. Some of you may be called to children's ministry or youth ministry. Some may be called to lead a community group or to head up a ministry team. Wherever the Lord has gifted you and leads you will be the place where you serve. In stage three, you will be in a specific mentoring group where you will receive training specific to your area of ministry from the pastors, deacons, and other leaders in the church. This training will ensure that you are effective in your ministry and continuing to grow in the knowledge and likeness of Christ.
